While there are still big names without an official contract for the next two years in MotoGP, we are also working hard to prepare for the future with the hopes of Moto2. We know that bagnaia, championship leader, already has a Pramac Ducati contract in his pocket. Here we learn, after the first three Grands Prix of the 2018 campaign, that the official KTM Miguel Oliveira has a proposal to study submitted by his employer in Mattighofen: a place in the future satellite team of the Austrian brand, Tech3.

At KTM, we don't waste time. The ink on the agreement with the French at Tech3 is barely dry when we are discussing the continuation of the operations. And especially when it comes to pilots. At least one of the two, sinceHervé Poncharal seems convinced and motivated by a Syahrin who currently leads the ranking of beginners among the elite.

As it seems certain that its spearhead John Zarco join the official team in orange alongside Pol Espargaro, there is one place left. Which, if we follow political logic, must be occupied by a rider who is moving up in the Red Bull KTM sector. And it's Miguel Oliveira who has all the assets to take the position.

An option that the sports boss at KTM, Pit Beirer, confirms on speedweek : " On Saturday, in Austin, Miguel Oliveira was offered a place in the Tech3 KTM team. He can therefore become a MotoGP rider. Our industry is starting to take shape. We cannot let go of a rider like Oliveira who is performing well in Moto2 and who was vice-world champion in Moto3 with us. I think that, for his part, he has two or three proposals where he could have a MotoGP ».

« He will therefore not stay in Moto2 next year. If he wants to take his chance in MotoGP with us he can now ". In view of what is being built, the future of Bradley Smith seems compromised while that of Rock seems limited. Furthermore, the same Beirer talks about the upcoming RC16 fairing colorsHervé Poncharal : " Tech3 has a contract with KTM at the moment, not Red Bull. But I would say that their current main sponsor will not be there next year ».

The complicity between KTM and Tech3 will therefore be real. It will even go as far as supplying machines in Moto2, which means the end of the career for the Mistral 610.
