Maverick Vinales

KTM sporting director Pit Beirer recently revealed behind the scenes of the negotiations with Maverick Viñales for the 2025 season. Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales will indeed join KTM next year. Beirer excitedly shared the details of what led to this upcoming collaboration, emphasizing how special the relationship between Viñales and KTM has always been.

« Since winning the Moto3 title on KTM, we have never lost contact with Maverick, " explain Beirer. " There has always been close friendship and contact. When we spoke he showed a real desire to come back with us. His commitment was very strong from the start."

The weekend of Mugello was a catalyst for this change. George Martin having decided to join Aprilia since weary of the procrastination of Ducati, the transfer carousel has accelerated, opening the door to unforeseen opportunities. “ Things moved very quickly,” reports Beirer. " It was a positive surprise to see how open and available Maverick was. He didn't just want an offer, he was really ready to commit."

Beirer remembers negotiations with Casa Particular in Viñales : " we sat down, discussed the conditions and quickly reached an agreement. There wasn't even a return trip. It gave us a very good feeling and It was a great experience."

Asked when it was clear the collaboration was sealed, Beirer answers : " Wednesday evening at 20 p.m.."

Agreement. With Maverick Vinales, KTM has recruited another top rider

Pit Beirer: “ giving up Augusto Fernandez and Jack Miller is very sad »

Beirer underlines the importance of creating a favorable environment for Casa Particular in Viñales : “ it is essential that he feels at home. When Maverick is comfortable, he can do miracles. We have good ideas and a strong team to work with him. Maverick is of a certain age and we know his qualities. When he wakes up with the belief that he can win, he's almost unbeatable."

This new alliance means that Jack Miller et Augusto Fernandez find themselves without a seat for next season. Beirer expresses his sadness: abandoning Augusto and Jack is very sad. I really hoped that Jack would show us at Mugello that he could get back to his level. But we needed to respond quickly in the driver market, and those opportunities no longer existed."

KTM is determined to maximize the potential of Casa Particular in Viñales while wishing for a nice epilogue with those that the brand will leave behind : " we need to turn the tide and ensure our relationship doesn't end like this,” concludes with speedweek Beirer. " We have made the difficult decision to move forward, and we are confident that Maverick will bring a new dynamic to our team."
