MotoGP, Pol Espargaró, KTM: “if I had been ten years older I might have lost the use of my arms and legs”.

The second season of Pol Espargaro on the KTM was full of emotions. And injuries. However, it is a completely different scenario that the Spaniard, like the Austrians, were hoping for after this great series going from Assen 2017 to the same Dutch Grand Prix 2018. A period of 15 races where the younger brother ofAleix has always moved between seventh and thirteenth place. But there were also three serious accidents… And finally a very first podium!

The life of Pol Espargaro at KTM has not been a smooth ride in 2018. Intense joy has rubbed shoulders with the anguish of absolute drama. Because third place at the last meeting in Valencia must be countered by the hard crashes of the Sepang, Aragon and, especially, Brno tests.

A misadventure in the Czech Republic which left its mark. Both morally and physically. Pol Espargaro is explained thus on speedweek : " yes, it was a bad fall… It took 30 seconds before I was able to move my feet. And another 15 seconds before I do the same with my arms and legs. My head was quite deeply buried in the gravel. My body twisted around her ».

He finishes : " for a long time I felt the consequences of this fall. It will take some time before these back problems finally go away. The doctor told me I was very lucky. He also assured me that my young age and my muscles helped me a lot. If I had been ten years older, I don't know what would have happened... ».
