This Sunday, November 7, 2021, Alex Rins answered questions from journalists from the Algarve International Autodrome in Portimão, at the end of the third day of the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Spanish driver, who finished in eighth position under the checkered flag in Portugal.

As usual, we report here the words of Alex Rins without the slightest formatting.

Álex, can you summarize your race for us? You didn't get off to an exceptional start, but then you managed to make a nice comeback...

« We actually lost a lot of time at the start, I had strange sensations with the clutch and it was quite slippery when I released it. I then found myself behind Franco Morbidelli, and he took the first corner very slowly, which slowed me down a lot because I couldn't take another line. »

« Afterwards I wanted to do my race and I started to be quite fast. I had a good pace but it was clearly not enough. I must say that our race was compromised from qualifying due to our distant position on the grid. Looking forward to the next race! »

You say that your race was compromised from qualifying on Saturday, but Joan Mir said that a step forward had been taken and that it was felt in the race. Do you also have the impression that the bike is doing better now?

« I encountered quite a few difficulties because I had a few drivers in front of me who were difficult to overtake. Afterwards what is true is that I had good feelings during the race, even if I was not in the position I wanted. I was able to show a good pace, but as we could see again, qualifying is really decisive for the race. »
