The Doctor would thus honor with his presence this fifth round of the 2022 MotoGP season but also and above all the first European meeting. Vale would take up residence with his troops as boss of the VR46 structure which is doing very well in Moto2 and showing great effort in the premier category.
Portimao is less than three hours by plane from Italy and it is a distance that has encouraged Valentino Rossi reunited with his family in a Grand Prix paddock where he will act as team boss. This will be his first visit to the championship paddock since his retirement. This presence will be an additional motivation for a Portuguese Grand Prix which will kick off a long series of 11 races on European soil.

In addition to Portimao, Valentino has planned two or three additional visits to the Grand Prix paddock, an excursion that will depend on his racing schedule with the WRT team in the Fanatec GT World Challenge. THE Italian Grand Prix scheduled for May 29 will be another appointment marked for 'Vale' on his calendar, but not the San Marino Grand Prix, another of the MotoGP meetings that Valentino wanted to attend but which coincides with the Hockenheim race of the said Fanatec championship.
His half-brother Luca marini declared before launching into the Portuguese fray: “ I am happy to be back to compete in Europe after a very demanding start to the season also in terms of travel and absences. The Portimao track is one of my favorites, last year we had a good race here on the first weekend in April: the goal is to immediately find the right feeling to be able to structure the work well during all weekend and do well in the race."
