Johann Zarco prepares to face the Portimao circuit with renewed determination, following his decent performance at the Qatar Grand Prix where he finished 12rd but also best RC213V driver. With hopes of improving his ranking and entering the top ten, Zarco is optimistic about the progress of his LCR Honda.

The Frenchman shares his enthusiasm: “ the weather should be good for the race, with the exception of the rain seen this Thursday, we are expecting an intense weekend. Last year, Marc Marquez really set the bar here. Honda received positive feedback on the bike's performance on this circuit, which makes me curious to see what we can accomplish – especially after a difficult Qatar ».

He adds : " the aim is to aim for Q2 and fight for the top ten, which would be fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting back some good feelings with the bike, like back then with Ducati. The objective is to further refine these sensations to gain competitiveness ».

Johann Zarco: “ the difference with the top 5 is not huge, maybe six or seven tenths »

Concerning its adaptation to the Honda, Johann Zarco recognizes that there is still a way to go: “ it's difficult to quantify, but we are clearly not exploiting the full potential currently. Even in Qatar, using the bike 100%, I might have reached tenth place, but we are still far from the top five ».

He mentioned : " the difference isn't huge, maybe six or seven tenths, which means a few adjustments could get us closer to our goal. This is the perspective I take, and I believe it is the right approach ».

Johann zarco concludes by praising the evolution of mentalities among Honda : " they really transformed the way they work to align with the methods of European brands ". A Europe that has become the reference in MotoGP under the impulsion of Ducati.
