Enea Bastianini eclipsed his competitors by setting the best time on Friday at Portimao, during a test session for the Portuguese Grand Prix full of twists and turns. From the opening, Jack Miller took the lead with a remarkable time, but was soon overtaken by the successive improvements of his rivals, ultimately relegating him to fifth position. Teammates Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi briefly dominated before Brad Binder took the lead with a time of 1'39.199, even surpassing Marc Marquez's time set earlier in the day.
Jack Miller, victim of the first fall of the session, escaped unscathed, while Jorge Martin et fabio quartararo were positioned in second and third place respectively. The young Peter Acosta impressed by placing fourth, closely following in the footsteps of Marc Marquez, who settled for seventh place, just ahead of his brother Alex.
During the second act, Marc Marquez showed his talent by climbing to second place, before George Martin does not seize the best time. Maverick Vinales then surprised everyone by briefly taking the lead, followed closely by Takaaki Nakagami et Marc Marquez.
