Quartararo Portugal

He did it again! Completely dejected yesterday after practiceFabio Quartararo has once again managed to turn things around in Portugal. As was the case in Misano and Barcelona, for example, the Frenchman found solutions that allowed him to finish the Sprint in fourth position, a more than respectable result. Having competed in Q1, "El Diablo" has every reason to be satisfied with this very good result.

Quartararo was quite happy at the end of Saturday, even though he couldn't keep up with the three speedsters ahead of him (Marquez, Acosta and Bezzecchi). « I had a very good pace in the first few laps, but the three drivers ahead of me were better positioned.I think I gave it my all, especially since with worn tires, in a sprint, you can't push too hard. Given the critical problems yesterday, it was a very good dayI was expecting a dirtier track, but in the end, it was in good condition. My opponents? I didn't pay attention to it.I simply wanted to give my best while preserving my tires. I tried to maintain a consistent pace until the end, and I don't think I could have done better."I might have been able to gain a tenth of a second per lap, but no more." we read on GP One.

Fabio Quartararo still has as much speed

"El Diablo" hasn't been kind to his Yamaha these past few weeks. Once again, he reveals what he considers to be the YZR-M1's biggest flaw. « Electronics is our biggest weakness, the team is aware of itBut we're missing a lot of things to be fast. We worked on it between yesterday and today, but our bike can't handle such radical changes. We have reduced the power, and I think we will continue like this tomorrow. » he continued.

According to him, the entire Yamaha team is focused on the mission and is trying to mitigate these intractable problems. « We know what we have to do, just as we are aware of the speed limits. In some corners, we can increase the power, while in others, the motorcycle cannot handle it and starts to skid. We therefore reduce the power to improve stability » he concluded.
