During the Portuguese Grand Prix in Portimao, Aprilia official rider Aleix Espargaró had a weekend full of ups and downs. Unlike his teammate Maverick Viñales, who excelled in both races, Espargaró struggled to maintain a competitive pace. Opening up about his struggles and thoughts during the tumultuous weekend, he shared his thoughts on the famous clash between Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez, and discussed the performances of Viñales and prodigy Pedro Acosta.

Aleix Espargaró explained that, despite a less-than-perfect weekend, he didn't consider the experience a total failure. He revealed that a lack of rear grip and a poor start, exacerbated by a collision in turn seven, forced him to start at the back of the pack. However, he managed to come back and finish in eighth position, although he felt he had the potential for a fifth or sixth place, provided he was at his usual level.

Aleix Espargaró: “ this is clearly a racing incident »

On the incident involving bagnaia et Marquez, Aleix Espargaró commented : " this is clearly a racing incident, it's a turning point where things happen every year. However, I think Pecco should have left more space after being passed by Marc. He reacted too aggressively after the overtake. When you're overwhelmed, it's frustrating, but that does not justify such aggressiveness. He should have given more space. I think Pecco Bagnaia was very aggressive after being passed by Marc Marquez"

It should be noted that this version is mainly shared by the drivers in the paddock, thus demonstrating that it is not because a racing incident happens that one is exonerated from any responsibility in its progress.
