Peter Acosta

KTM Team GASGAS Tech3 rider Pedro Acosta put in a stellar performance at the Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimao, carving his way through the field with a series of remarkable overtakes on riders like Jack Miller, Brad Binder, Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, to finally achieve his first podium in MotoGP. In an interview with Sky Sport, Acosta shared his strategy and impressions of the race, particularly highlighting his overtake on Bagnaia.

« The objective today was to manage tires smarter than in Qatar, avoiding any costly mistakes, " explain Peter Acosta. " I overtook Bagnaia just before he made a mistake, taking care not to wear the tires too much and trying to follow the example of Pecco, who perfectly masters wear and tear. I'm really happy with the result, but there are still areas for improvement ».

He adds : " we finished the race with more rubber, but we need to understand why the Ducati seems to corner better than our KTM, despite our braking advantage. The overtaking on Pecco was the most rewarding for me, after following him, I tried for the first time, then I caught up with him and finally overtook him ».
