Indeed, at the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix, Jack Miller started from third place and finished second after overtaking Morbidely on the final lap, securing Ducati its first constructors' championship since 2007. In 2021, he had surgery for a compartment syndrome problem. He had qualified in fourth position, but crashed on lap six at turn 3 while in sixth position. At the 2021 Algarve Grand Prix, he qualified in second position, equaling his best result of the season in qualifying, and finished the race in third position for the fourth of his five podiums this season.
