Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez is back, for better or for worse and barely has he regained most of his form when he finds himself on the evening of the very first Grand Prix of the season in Portugal with one arm in the plaster. Officially, that leaves us, by the way, with three pilots injured at the end of this battle of Portimao, two of whom have already withdrawn from the next stage in Argentina, for which Marc Marquez is currently unfit… But the latter carried away in his proverbial enthusiasm two of his colleagues who came out miraculously well. A scenario that is not new with the Honda official for whom, literally, it's either make or break. But this time, in the paddock we are getting tired of it. Even the bosses get involved.

Si Marc Marquez had made fans on Saturday in the Algarve, he didn't have many friends this Sunday in Portugal. A turnaround which can be explained by this real attack against the local hero Miguel Oliveira, for which this could have gone very badly given the violence of the impact suffered from the rear which caused two " Mother of Gods! At Maverick Vinales when he saw the scene again on the screen after the arrival…

The official Honda was punished and he also punished himself with a possibly fractured hand. He apologized too, but that wasn't enough to avoid the paddock storm that fell on him. His first victim Jorge Martin said : " it's always the same, after the big blow he gave me at the start, I broke my toe and I also have something in my ankle. The handlebars also twisted and anyway I was running in 1'38, I was ready for the podium. I hope they do something, it's always him. I don't know if I could have won but I certainly could have fought for the podium ».

His second target, Miguel Oliveira added : " I have a little pain in my right leg but nothing broken, it's positive considering the blow I took. I saw the replay, it was strange, surely Marc went too far, he was over the limit. He avoided Martin, but I was there... Marc said he had a technical problem? But if you have a technical problem, brake first ».

Aleix Espargaró: “ Marc Marquez? It is not the Race Direction that must act, it is up to us to calm down. How many pilots do we have in the hospital«

And indeed, the excuse of technical problem was put forward. But she didn't convince anyone... Aleix Espargaró thus stepped up to the plate: “ Marquez's action today… but where are you going? Brake first! “. Aleix added: “It is not the Race Direction who must act, it is up to us to calm down. 40 races to go, everything is not finished today, how many drivers do we have in hospital? ».

But it wasn't just the pilots who reacted. The bosses have also had their say. Massimo rivola, from Aprilia Racing, which now has in its ranks Olive said: “I see the referee non-existent towards those who do not respect the rules. I'm not against the attitude of the drivers, they will try until the end. The pilots must be stopped. We realize the damage that was done in the first race. If we don't realize this, someone is going to get really hurt. If these drivers don't start being sanctioned, it's a problem, they are a bad example for young drivers."

Claudio Domenicali boss of Ducati, and who therefore Jorge Martin under his wing, is also on the same wavelength as Rivola : " It's time to put an end to this way of driving. » he declared in reference to Marc Marquez, then added: “ if it was a technical problem they need to prove it with the data ". The case is therefore not closed…
