Pirro logically defends the Ducati cause...

In 2021, Ducati has decided to practically start from scratch when it comes to its rider team. There are in fact three beginners distributed in two satellite structures. There is also an experienced thirty-year-old in one of them, Pramac, from whom the two new officials Miller and Bagnaia come. The latter will have to prove that they indeed deserve this promotion. As a result, many are wondering whether the Borgo Panigale firm will regret Dovizioso's departure. Test pilot Pirro answers straight away: it will be the opposite. Dovi will miss Ducati.

At Ducati, we are “corporate”, and perhaps more so than elsewhere. To deviate from an official line in terms of general policy and development in particular is to take the risk of incurring the wrath of management, and this is what one said. Andrea Dovizioso whose opinions on the Desmosedici diverged from those of the master on board, Gigi Dall'Igna. The separation took place between Dovi and the brand and the question is who of the two will miss the other the most.

For the test pilot Michele Pirro, there is no doubt about the answer. It is obviously Ducati who will be missed Dovizioso. And he explains why: “ I never imagined such growth from Dovizioso as he has shown over the last four years. My point of vue is without Ducati it would have been more difficult for him to reach this level ».

Piro: “Ducati was a second family for Dovizioso”

Ducati So Dovi did it and not the other way around. The same Pirro insists on this sense of history: “ Ducati was a second family for Andrea. Maybe he doesn't want to recognize it but, from the inside, we have done a lot for him, trying to create a favorable environment for him to get the most out of it. ».

Words distilled to GP One of which we do not know if they include a period Jorge Lorenzo all the same far from an environment favorable to Dovizioso. That being said, if the latter does not yet regret Ducati, it seems that he is already starting to get nostalgic for the competition. On Motoracing, we can thus read this feeling of the native of Forli: “ I think it’s a shame, of course. When I think about the fact that I'm not going to race on some special tracks, I'm sorry. Even if you race on special tracks without fans, like Mugello, it's obviously still a fantastic track ».

The latest trend is that Dovizioso will have to take on this sabbatical year that he chose since at home Honda, we no longer seem motivated to call him. Bradl should start the season while awaiting the return of a Marc Marquez who could return to business mid-season...
