Between Scott Redding and the Pramac team, it is an adventure that began in 2016 and which will end at the end of this season. A relationship which both parties welcome from a human point of view while on a sporting level, the differences seem marked. A " I love you neither » which will experience its epilogue in six Grands Prix. The team's team manager, Francesco Guidotti, is already starting to take stock of the passage of the native of England which, he admits, will remain a mystery for him.

Scott Redding came from Moto2 where he acquired the status of vice-world champion and began his career in MotoGP on a Honda meeting the late CRT regulations. A machine which was not a success, notably undermined by the interpretation of these regulations made by Ducati, a brand which he found again by integrating Pramac.

In 2016, he climbed onto the third step of the Assen podium, which did not erase an average campaign at the end of which he lost to his teammate Petrucci for winning the GP17 for the following year. Currently twelfth overall with 45 points, his best results are a seventh place taken at the start of Qatar, then two eighth positions.

That being said, for Guidotti, Redding There remains one case to be clarified: when the year started it wasn't so bad. At Le Mans, we had a technical problem. Each time, something happens to him during the race. We really tried together, but things didn't work out the way we each hoped. So it's better to part ways before it's too late ».

« From a human point of view, there is nothing to say about Scott. We even spent weekends together outside of the competition, we talked about what happened next and we realized that our points of view were divergent. We'll stay in touch. But that’s life, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. And if it doesn't work, that's no reason to get angry ».

Redding will have the leather of an Aprila official in 2018, taken from his compatriot Sam Lowes who will find Moto2 with CarXpert. At Pramac, we hired Jack Miller who will therefore be the teammate of Danilo Petrucci confirmed in the walls.
