Petronas introduces itself...

It's the turn of the Malaysian colors Petronas to present themselves for a 2021 MotoGP season where they intend to play a big role. And for good reason: they have the reigning vice-world champion in the person of Franco Morbidelli who has transformed himself. Furthermore, they welcome a new recruit of choice with Valentino Rossi, who is now a Yamaha satellite rider. What will this pair straight from the VR46 Academy give us?

After Avintia, the Ducati factory, the Official Yamaha, LCR, Repsol Honda, Pramac, here it is now Petronas which lifts the veil on its 2021 colors. An event brought to us by the men of Razlan Razali who take the direction of Qatar which will be the basis for collecting information from the Grand Prix paddock this month. The off-season and the first two races of the season will in fact be organized there.

For the Malaysian brand, it is pure “made in Tavullia” which will be in its box MotoGP. For the first time, Valentino Rossi et Franco Morbidelli , long-time friends outside the circuits, will be teammates in the premier category under the awning Petronas. Eyes will be on this duo, given their good potential to win the world title.

Petronas bets on Tavullia

The nine-time world champion for the first time will not be on a factory team in MotoGP, but he will have the full support of Yamaha and will aim to get back on the path to success after last year's difficult season, in which he often showed a lot of potential, but without regularly achieving good results.

2020, on the other hand, was an unforgettable year for Morbidely, because it was his best season in MotoGP. The Italian-Brazilian takes to the track as reigning vice-champion, after having stunned at the wheel of the M1 and having completed the last championship as a conqueror. The VR46 Riders Academy rider will certainly be one of the favorites and will aim to start immediately in the best possible way, on the circuit of losail in Qatar.
