Esteve Rabat is recovering from his terrible accident at Silverstone, a fall suffered during FP4 of a British Grand Prix subject to the elements which will eventually get the better of his progress. At the bend of a turn impossible to negotiate due to the conditions, the pilot Avintia fell, like other of his colleagues. But success was not on his side when Morbidelli's sinking motorcycle hit him. The results include a leg with a fracture of the femur, tibia and fibula.

Since then, the Spaniard has been working hard to find his Ducati and the Grands Prix. But he also learned lessons from his misadventure. On speedweek, he remembers : " I knew I was lucky when I saw myself in the hospital. The moment I fell, I didn't think of anything, I just screamed because it hurt so much. When I fell I realized that other motorcycles were behind me. It was a moment of panic. When the motorcycle hit me, I felt terrible pain. I was very, very, very sore…. I stood there in the rain with a broken leg ».

The former Moto2 World Champion comments: “ you learn from everything. The next time this happens, which I hope not, I'll look around first. Without worrying about anything else, I'll just try to dodge. And then I will now be more attentive to everything that is happening, even if I will sometimes have to compromise because the goal is still to be as fast as possible. But I will for example be more careful in the first two laps, if the track is not one hundred percent ».

He finishes : " Many people took care of me and showed me their affection. It helped me a lot ».
