Pecco, you did the job almost to perfection but it seemed difficult to contain Maverick's Yamaha and Joan Mir's Suzuki...
Francis Bagnaia : " When I saw that Johann Zarco was overtaking me, I tried to stay calm for a few laps to let the tire rest because I was really struggling with the rear tire. Then when I did those 3 or 4 laps slower, I tried to accelerate again and the tire was better but maybe I overdid it during the first few laps and maybe I wore too much the rear tire. For the next race, next week, we will try something different: First of all, I will try to be more consistent with the rear tire because, in the end, it was totally finished. I am happy for this first race with this team: Pole position and podium! I am very happy ! It’s a good way to start the season and a good way to start this chapter of my career. I am happy and I want to thank, to hug, my family at home, my trainer who helped me a lot this winter, and above all my girlfriend who is at home. I also thank my team! »
