Miguel Oliveira makes Qatar smile again at KTM

At KTM, we find a smile with Miguel Oliveira in this Doha Grand Prix which saw, on Friday, two RC16 riders fail by a whisker for direct access to Q2. There is certainly FP3 left to try one's luck again, but the track conditions will be less favorable than during FP2 which nevertheless showed KTMs less penalized on the Losail track than only a week ago...

Things are definitely moving very quickly MotoGP. During the Friday of Doha Grand Prix taking place on the same Losail track which hosted the MotoGP last weekend, the KTM showed better pace. And like that of Honda dropped, the RC16s found themselves contenders for the top 10. Unfortunately, there was still the RC213V of Stefan bradl to block their path to a potential entry into Q2. Which did not fail to relaunch the debate on the German test driver who drives as much as a regular driver...

Less than Miguel Oliveira for the factory team and Danilo Petrucci for Tech3 we just missed the boat. The Portuguese comments: “ it was a more positive Friday than last week. But at the same time, I'm frustrated that I didn't make the top 10. We're going to check and compare a few things in FP4 to get even more out of the bike. We need our best level in Q1 ».

Miguel Oliveira: “ we are very motivated, don't worry! »

« Even though it doesn't show my face, I can say that we are very motivated, don't worry! » And he adds: “ Being so close to the top 10 is motivating and also disappointing. Unfortunately, it makes no difference whether you are eleventh or seventeenth. The goal is always to achieve the best performance »

Olive tree admits : " I would like to have a clear answer on the tires. The format of these free practice sessions is crazy, but you have to work with it. You expect a performance in the evening to take you straight to Q2. You can hardly try anything during the day. But we have some interesting approaches to reducing stress on the front tire when cornering ».
