Enea Bastianini already has her strategy

Enea Bastianini will honor his Moto2 world title acquired in 2020 by starting the 2021 financial year as a rider on the MotoGP grid. From Friday, on the Losail track where he discovered his Ducati GP19 for the off-season tests, he will take part in the Qatar Grand Prix. His focus will be Jorge Martin, the other rookie placed at Pramac in 2021 while he will be keen to be master in his Avintia box which he will share with Luca Marini, also a beginner. Carlo Pernat's protégé already has clear ideas before launching into battle and is even seeing further ahead.

Enea Bastianini, from the top of his 23 year-old is about to start his first race weekend as a driver MotoGP au Qatar. He will wear the colors of the Avintia Esponsorama team and will be one more World Champion on this prestigious grid, since he is the holder of the crown in Moto2. In his competition, he will have targets who will be his colleagues just as beginners as are the vice-world champion Luca marini et George Martin, twice winner in Moto2 last year.

During the Qatar tests, Martin et bastianini made the strongest impression among this trio of debutants. In the end, “Bestia” lost 1,322 seconds off the Ducati factory rider’s best time Jack Miller, ranking in 15th place.

bastianini, who drives a Desmosedici GP19 at Avintia Esponsorama as Marini, declared before launching into the fray: “ I'm very happy with how the tests went and how I progressed. I had a lot of fun and, above all, I started to understand how MotoGP works. I think I've learned a lot, but I still have a lot of work to do ».

Enea Bastianini thinks more about Doha than Qatar

The first race weekend as a MotoGP rider will take place on a Losail track which will also be the scene of the second round the following weekend. On the statistical side, bastianini has raced in Qatar for the past seven years in Moto3 and Moto2 and has finished on the podium twice: second in 2015 (Moto3) and third last year in Moto2, en route to clinching the title. 2021 is the first race of bastianini on a MotoGP bike in Qatar.
