He talks about his ambition to be at the top from the start of the 2024 season and to keep his place in the red Ducati house, confirming himself as the main one to Jorge Martin… And others?

The opening of the season MotoGP in Qatar in 2022 will remain engraved in the memory ofEnea Bastianini : during his first race for the team Gresini Ducati, the Italian had shone and won a resounding victory. This triumph in the desert was not the result of chance, but the result of intense work. bastianini had dominated the P3 session and took second place in the crucial Q2 session, securing him a first row on the starting grid. His constant aggressiveness during testing had paved the way to his success.

Despite his speed on the track, bastianini sometimes showed signs of indecision during races, preventing him from breaking away from the peloton. His fluctuating performances did not prevent him from landing one of the two most coveted places on the official factory team Ducati. After a season marked by injuries, beyond his control, the 2 Moto2020 champion is now looking forward to his second chance to fight for the world championship title in 2024.

Back at Losail Enea Bastianini, MotoGP winner in Qatar two years ago, wants to be at the top regularly this year

Enea Bastianini: “ it's about having mental aggression »

In recent tests, Aeneas bastianini appeared just behind Pecco Bagnaia. If we rely on the results of the tests at Losail, the two pilots Ducati Lenovo seem to be the favorites for the new season. However, bastianini recognizes the need to take a different approach to racing for 2024.

« Aggression is key. I worked a lot on this », he explains in the Losail paddock. “ It is crucial to be offensive, especially at the start of a race. But it also concerns the driving style. Personally, I'm inclined towards smooth movements and find my strength in entering curves. Being too aggressive would not benefit me. So it's about having mental aggression », adds the pilot of 26 years.

Asked about the possibility of working on this aggressiveness during Supermoto training, Le “Bestia” emphasizes that it is a question of mentality. However, he emphasizes the progress made during winter testing and says his goal this year is to be at the front in every race. A method that a certain person would not shy away from George Martin who made this philosophy his trademark. The two men will be at loggerheads this year for the teammate spot Pecco Bagnaia.
