During the press conference, the Spaniard recalled his great year 2020 as follows: “ Last year we had a wonderful and dream season. Here in Qatar, however, we are all starting from scratch and it will be really important for us to have a good feeling here straight away. The tests didn't go badly, but we all have work to do nonetheless. We hope to get through this, there are big challenges ahead of us like defending the title. The bike is the same so it will be important to keep the same regularity ».

Mir then spoke of the farewells of Brivio : " Davide also did a great job putting the right people in the right places. We have shown that with this team we know how to win, so I think Suzuki will leave things like that. We miss Davide, but we wish him good luck in his new adventure. Last year, many drivers had great races, but they couldn't be consistent ».

Joan Mir bets on Ducati and Yamaha
