Marco Bezzecchi

Marco Bezzecchi had a complicated off-season with a Ducati GO23 which he discovered was less in his hand than his previous GP22. Losail's last test had left him expectant, but still optimistic about a way out of his impasse. The same circuit is now covered as part of the Qatar Grand Prix, inaugurating the 2024 season. And we cannot say that things have worked out for the “Bezz”…

Marco Bezzecchi thus closed the first day of Qatar Grand Prix, first stage of MotoGP 2024, with the 18e time. Despite his position in the standings, which echoes worryingly his previous performances in the GP23, the VR46 driver remains positive.

Marco Bezzecchi: “ the objective is still direct access to Q2 »

With a lap time of 1'53.626 in the dry and 2'08.648 in the wet, there would be reason to worry. But work continues on the Ducati Desmosedici GP to reduce the gap with the strongest group.

« A strange day, everything postponed until Saturday! » announces the teammate Fabio DiGiannantonio ranked eighth. “ The objective is always direct access to Q2, once this objective is achieved, the weekend can take another path. In terms of riding, I'm working on the same aspect: I have difficulty stopping the bike, I have the feeling of always going wide, I'm not padone again ».

He adds : " we have made progress, we have a path to follow, but I also have to adapt my driving ". Then he finishes: “ it wasn't bad in the wet, there wasn't much water on the track and here, in the dark, it's not easy to understand where the spots are ».
