Pecco Bagnaia

Pecco Bagnaia finished in fourth place in the very first Sprint race of the season in Qatar, a result below his expectations due to imperfect qualifying which forced him to start from the second row. During the event, he first had to stand up to his teammate Enea Bastianini, before going up against Marc Marquez and Aleix Espargaró. The latter finally had the upper hand, removing the double world champion from the podium.

La nouvelle Desmosedici GP 24 experienced some technical problems, notably a vibration problem at the end of the race which affected its performance. Pecco Bagnaia spoke to Sky Sport on this subject: “ the feeling this weekend differs from that of the winter tests, with more marked difficulties. Mistakes made in the last two corners during qualifying unfortunately worked against me, a better start would certainly have changed the outcome ».

Pecco Bagnaia: “ I remain positive about this Sprint race »

He adds : " I encountered vibration problems at the end of the race, despite this, I remain positive about this Sprint race. Aleix Espargaró turned out to be the fastest today, while Martin, Binder and I were on a fairly similar pace. At the end of the race, I had difficulty fully exploiting my motorcycle because of these problems ».

Then he finishes: “this race was only the Sprint, things could change tomorrow, Sunday. It must be admitted that the Aprilias and KTMs show great competitiveness ».
