MotoGP Qatar Qualifying LIVE: Pole and record for Marc Marquez, Quartararo 3rd, Zarco 7th

We have now arrived at the all-important qualifying session for this Qatar Grand Prix at Losail. The starting grid will be formed before our very eyes.

In prequalifying for the MotoGP Grand Prix of Qatar, Ducati brilliantly dominated the first practice sessions, placing five bikes in the top five positions. The best performance came from Franco Morbidelli, who took first place with a time of 1'50.830 aboard the VR24 Racing Team Desmosedici GP 46. Morbidelli, who had to watch the race from the stands last year after a serious training accident in Portimão, proved that he is still a serious contender and capable of fighting in the premier class.

Behind him are the Ducati Lenovo Team riders: Pecco Bagnaia, who finished in second place, and Marc Marquez, third. The latter, although he had to settle for third position, showed that he is on the right track after taking more than half a second from his teammate during the morning session. The top 5 is completed by Fabio DiGiannantonio of the VR46 Racing Team, which continues to impress with the Desmosedici GP 25 and Alex Marquez of Gresini Racing, currently leader of the championship.

The rookie Fermin Aldeguer of Gresini Racing and Johann zarco of LCR Honda, the sole representative Honda to qualify directly for Q2, complete the group of qualifiers for the Q2.

However, several drivers from major manufacturers will have to fight in Q1, including alex rins on Yamaha factory, the Honda de Luca marini et Joan mir, as well as Brad Binder, Ai Ogura, Enea Bastianini, Jack Miller et Raul Fernandez.

The start of the season is difficult for Aprilia, with Marco Bezzecchi only in 19th position, just ahead George Martin. Although Martin has valid excuses, having only returned to the track the same day with little testing on the RS-GP25, the performance of Bezzecchi, which is 1.350 seconds behind, is worrying. However, anything remains possible at the start of the championship where Ducati continues to dominate.
