Following the incident which left Jorge Lorenzo without brakes during the 10th lap of the Qatar Grand Prix, Brembo has just recognized that the Majorcan driver had no responsibility in this story, and would like to apologize for it.

A brief press release states: “Regarding what happened to Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo during the Qatar Grand Prix, Brembo is very disappointed that the rider's retirement on the 12th lap of the race was caused by a problem related to the braking system.

After careful analysis by our technicians, we confirm that the problem has been identified and resolved so that such an anomaly cannot occur again.”

We remember that the Ducati rider's mechanics went back to get a pad in turn #4.

Just for information, because we have no idea if this has anything to do with the incident in Qatar, the pads of the Brembo MotoGP braking system are blocked in their housing by tabs held by small screws located under the caliper. If one of these breaks or becomes loose, the risk of losing a pad is no longer zero.
