Leader yesterday, Maverick Viñales had to settle for seventh place during the second day of MotoGP testing in Qatar.

The Yamaha rider is not very far behind in the time, less than half a second, but he feels that the bike is not yet perfect, with small problems that vary from one day to the next, while he dominated the tests here exactly a year ago.

Mavercik Vinales : “We are not even close to our level from last year in Qatar. We need to improve the electronics and the rear wheel grip. So we have a lot of work to do on Saturday. This is especially true for long runs, as tires degrade very quickly. Compared to Thursday, the rear wheel grip was lower when accelerating, so I had more difficulty turning.
The improvements when entering corners are visible. We have improved in this area, but something is missing in other areas. Time is running out, because the race is already approaching. We know we're late. Nevertheless, I am in a positive mood and I work intensely. This is the only way to move forward. »
