Jorge Lorenzo WSBK

Jorge Lorenzo looked into the cases of Franco Morbidelli and Maverick Viñales in his show “99 seconds”. Two pilots who are part of the contingent regretting a mixed start to the campaign. The Spaniard is nevertheless the winner of the first race in Qatar, but he does not seem able to shake off his excitement. For the Italian, on the other hand, it is rather his great inner peace that he would have to transgress to shake up the people at Yamaha who refuse him the best equipment. Here are the tips from remote coach Jorge Lorenzo…

Jorge Lorenzo does not only give general opinions on races and other meetings in his show on You Tube “ 99 seconds ". He also does private consulting. A free and remote service that he offered to Maverick Vinales and Franco Morbidelli.

On his compatriot, official Yamaha , he says : " he's young and he's going to come out of this and win races again. What is clear, is that he has two handicaps which limit him a lot. The first is that of departures. He has to improve on this, he has to be very serious and try to improve them. Then those emotional ups and downs. I think it needs to be a lot more consistent because in the end there will always be problems ».

He explains : " the Yamaha on some circuits will not perform well, in others it will be him who will not be fast on the circuit or with the bike and he will not be able to go fast. There will be falls, injuries, times when he is less well physically or emotionally and there we must be consistent, always think positive, try to obtain the maximum possible points without having excuses and say that everything is a desaster ».

Jorge Lorenzo scratches Yamaha

To Morbidely, the situation is different, because there is the variable Yamaha  : " my opinion may be quite strong, but I think that Yamaha in this case does not treat Franco in the best way, because he was second overall last year ", said Lorenzo. “ Ducati gives its four riders divided between the factory and Pramac practically the same bike and Yamaha does not do it, precisely with Franco ».

Once the observation is made, he gives the procedure to follow: “ Now I believe Franco should demand the same treatment from Yamaha and he is doing well in threatening to start talking to other factories or to those other factories that want it. But once he puts on his helmet and gets on the bike, he has to concentrate on getting the best out of himself and show Yamaha they are wrong by not giving him the same treatment ". We will see this weekend in Jerez whether this advice will be followed in effect in MotoGP.
