Marc Marquez, the latest MotoGP phenomenon, has also noticed this. In three Grands Prix, Pedro Acosta has made a name and reputation for himself on the international Grand Prix scene. So much so that the double winner and leader of the Moto3 championship he is discovering already seems to have his path mapped out towards MotoGP. During the press conference for the Spanish Grand Prix, at which he was present, he heard nothing but praise from his illustrious elders. But also advice on caution. Marc Marc Marquez was lavish, but he also opened the question about the impact that a new generation can have on the previous ones. Rossi then entered the demonstration…

Marc Marquez no doubt already expects it: in a few years, he will have to deal with a certain Peter Acosta who, if he continues his career in this way, will be a client in MotoGP. On his 16-year-old compatriot, the eight-time World Champion initially wanted to be kind: “ you already know my philosophy since I arrived, and it's about taking it step by step and trying to learn. When Moto3 is good, move to Moto2 and learn, then move to MotoGP. For Acosta, I say leave him alone and let him enjoy it. We burned a lot of good pilots. He can win, he’s 16, he’s strong. Let him drive and I'm sure he'll get there ».

« It is also the decision of his team, of his people. Let him ride and enjoy, that's the most important thing for all of us, we sacrificed many young drivers because of the pressure. He can win this title this year, but let's let him do it and enjoy what he comes ».

Marc Marquez: “When I am no longer competitive, I will probably stay at home”

The question of the rise and rise of a generation implies that the currently established one is being pushed out. An inexorable march of time that Valentino Rossi likes to slow down while still in combat 42 years. A situation which thus inspires Marc Marquez : " I still feel young, but new generations are coming. At the moment I'm still competitive, but the time will come when I have to accept that newcomers are better than me. At that point, when I understand that my downward parabola has begun, I will have to choose to stop or continue ».

The Spaniard finally concluded: “ when I'm not competitive anymore, I'll probably stay home because I'm here to fight ". A fundamental difference is thus claimed with a Valentino Rossi which is certainly not mentioned but which everyone thinks of.
