If there is one place that to this day is still not filled in the MotoGP world championship, it is the 3rd step on the podium. This will be done this weekend, during the last race of the season which will take place in Valencia. Two pilots compete for the beauty…

For the first two ranks of the championship, mass is said with a Marc Marquez world champion for the sixth time, and a Andrea Dovizioso, crowned runner-up for the third consecutive year. The 2018 scenario is thus reproduced with a Honda at the forefront and a Ducati in ambush.

This season, third place on the podium still remains to be conquered. Two pilots compete fiercely. Maverick Vinales, the Yamaha official has a slight lead in terms of points, since his counter displays 201 points. He also has 2 victories this season. It's the Suzuki driver, Alex Rins who is next with 194 points and 2 victories in his bag as well.

This season Maverick Vinales has been the most consistent as he has been on the podium seven times, winning twice, once in the Netherlands and the other in Malaysia, a fortnight ago. He also came close to the podium twice, finishing fourth twice, once fifth and once sixth. His worst race result was eleventh at the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin. In this year 2019, he will have fallen four times, some of which were not always his fault...like in Catalonia where other greats had gone to the ground, jostled by a certain Jorge Lorenzo…Last year on the Valencia track, the teammate of Valentino Rossi had fallen.

Alex Rins As for him, he had a roller coaster season. He still reached the podium three times, two of which saw him win, in Great Britain on the Silverstone track and during the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin. On eight occasions he was close to the top 10. He also fell three times. His worst result this season was finishing tenth at Le Mans during the French Grand Prix. During the last edition in Valencia, for the grand finale, the teammate of Joan mir was on the second step of the podium, behind a Andrea Dovizioso, winner of the day.

Considering the forces present, Maverick Vinales seems well on its way to securing this precious third place in the championship. But that's without counting on a formidable and fiery Alex Rins who has not said his last word and who will undoubtedly take advantage of the slightest opportunity, and who knows perhaps, from uncertain weather, which could without mixing and changing the situation...
