Even though he finished a little further back than yesterday in qualifying, the Suzuki rider confirmed his good pace at the Red Bull Ring, despite his injury.

When he was injured at the start of the season, Alex Rins had logically been excluded from the predictions to play placed during the following Grands Prix. However, he is deceiving as many people as possible by showing himself to be extremely fast, as soon as he returns from injury.

Last week, in Brno, he made Johann Zarco's fans tremble by coming back at him at full speed during the final laps. Even if he ultimately failed to reach the podium, the Suzuki rider can congratulate himself on having done so with a still injured shoulder.

And once again, this weekend, he is one of the top riders in Austria even though the track is not known to be well suited to the GSX-RR. Fourth in FP1 and FP3, he automatically secured his place in Q2 before qualifying eighth, only less than three tenths from pole.

With such results and an injury that he is controlling better and better, he is proving to be quite formidable and will be one to watch closely tomorrow.

“I'm on the third row but the times are so tight that it's not bad at all! », did he declare. “I feel like my pace is good enough to fight at the front so I'm positive about what I can do. My shoulder hurt today but I'm used to it. I'm getting used to it now and I have to overcome it. I am confident about tomorrow's race. »
