The Ricardo Tormo Circuit will put in place this Saturday the first piece of its Walk of Fame, during the sixth edition of the concentration of classic vehicles Racing Legends.

French Regis Laconi, first winner of the Valencian Community Grand Prix in the 500cc category, will be responsible for inaugurating the Walk of Fame by leaving their handprints at the entrance to the facilities.

The French pilot will be the guest of honor at the event and will constitute the first piece of the Walk of Fame. Only the winners of a Grand Prix in the premier category of the Comunitat Valenciana will be invited to leave their mark during this process.

The list began in 1999 with Laconi and, to date, eleven other drivers deserve this mention: the Australians Troy Bayliss, Casey Stoner et Gary McCoy, winner in 2000, the Spaniards Sete Gibernau, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo et Marc Marquez, the Italians Valentino Rossi, Marco Melandri et Andrea Dovizioso, and the Brazilian Alex Barros, winner in 2002.

“It is a tribute to the Grand Prix drivers who will forever remain in the main entrance of our facilities”, declared the general director of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Gonzalo Gobert, who will participate in the opening ceremony next Saturday at 11:30 a.m. “In the years to come, we will take advantage of visits from drivers and former drivers to pay them this little tribute, which will be very appreciated by the fans who visit us at each event”, he added.

A total of 1 vehicles have registered for Racing Legends, which will bring together fans, restorers and collectors of automobiles, motorcycles and trucks over a weekend (March 214 and 2) on and off of the Valencian track. Tickets are on sale on the Circuit website for 3 euros for adults. Children under 10 will have free entry.
