Contrary to what some may think, Hervé Poncharal's decision to leave Yamaha has nothing to do with a possible arrival of Team Sky VR46 in MotoGP.

This would not happen a priori, at least in 2019 and 2020, and, therefore, the question arises of who will rent the M1s to the Iwata firm.

Obviously, with the level of performance demonstrated throughout last year and again during the last MotoGP tests by the Tech3 team, there is no shortage of customers, the Yamaha M1 satellite still being an extremely competitive machine to this day. …if it is well managed and well operated.

According to Mela Chercoles, a famous Spanish journalist present at all the Grands Prix, the team Angel Nieto has already been a candidate, through a statement from Fonsi Nieto (nephew of Angel Nieto, ex-pilot and current coach at Pramac) during a talk show which will be broadcast on the Spanish channel Movistar this evening.

Another contender, still according to the words of the Spanish journalist, the team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS, who we know is starting to get tired of his stubborn Hondas… (see here).

These are at the moment the only two known competitors and, given their respective financial bases, their chances are probably not completely equal.
