Very discreet, the mother of Marc and Álex Márquez agreed to speak in a documentary broadcast by the Spanish channel DAZN.
The Márquez have always displayed a very close relationship. The two brothers, Marc and Álex, never stopped supporting each other by coming to congratulate each other in the parc ferme or celebrating their titles on the track. There is also their father, Juliá, who follows them to the Grands Prix and who is quite well known to the public since he very often appears on the screens during the races.
And then there is their mother, Roser Alentá, very discreet and not very present on the circuits. She rarely speaks in the media and many do not know her face. However, she agreed to speak to DAZN, a Spanish streaming channel, which decided to honor the mothers of great athletes in a series of documentaries.
Although not available in France, extracts were broadcast and allowed us to discover a little more about the point of view of this shadowy woman, who is a pillar in the life of the eight-time and double Champions of the world. Marc and Álex also participated in the documentary to retrace their journey, commented by Roser.
“Remembering these moments from my childhood was special. We live a lot from day to day and it's nice to stop for a bit and relive those moments.", said Mark. “It's very moving to look back and see how they grew up and what they achieved, and see that, despite the passage of time or the titles, the two are still the same and have not at all changed in their relationship or with their family and friends”, added his mother.
A discreet mother, therefore, and who only comes to very few races each year. With her eyes glued to the screen, it is impossible for her to go out and watch the race in real life, as she admitted: “Once, Álex lied to me and took me on a scooter to see Marc [at the side of the track]. I got so nervous that I started crying. »
“It’s not easy to see your sons racing at 300 km/h on a circuit”, she continued. "I just don't want them to fall." But as a mother, I will always support them in whatever they want to do. »
