Scott Redding made a reason that circumstances imposed on him: he will have to leave, at the end of this year, not only MotoGP but also the world of Grands Prix. No more room for him. Currently official Aprilia alongside Aleix Espargaro, you have to believe that the position is cursed when you are English, since his predecessor was a certain Sam Lowes. As he approaches his last four races with the RS-GP, he takes stock and admits to being looking for a new challenge that would reignite his flame.

Scott Redding did no better than a twelfth place during this still ongoing season. A position taken in Argentina then in Catalonia. The rest of the trials turned out to be sad processions. Enough to dull the sharpest of blades… “ I have to do something that will bring back the racing fire in me a little, because after a few years here in MotoGP and after experiencing certain situations there, I lost it a little. ».

On this, he becomes more critical of the environment: “ when you are in MotoGP, with the best manufacturers with the best riders in the world and the best technicians, the differences in level between the equipment become more pronounced. In the other categories of motorcycle competition these gaps are less penalizing. In these disciplines, the bike counts less than the rider ».

The 25-year-old driver from Gloucester finishes: “ I just want something I can understand. I got involved in too many bets and got nothing ". A new world which could be the World Superbike or the British championship of the specialty.

In 2013, Scott Redding finished second in the Moto2 World Championship, but never really got a foothold in the top class after that. In the first and second years of the MotoGP World Championship, he finished 12th and 13th with a Honda and finished the next two years with a Ducati 14th and 13th.

This season, Redding is only 21st in the world championship standings with Aprilia. In 2019, Aleix Espargaró et Andrea Iannone will ride the two motorcycles from the Noale factory.
