Tonight in Malaysia there was an event big enough at the Sepang circuit to attract the Prime Minister himself, Yab Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
During a demonstration which lasted more than 2 hours, Tan Sri Azman, president of Sepang International Circuit, said the facilities would expand significantly, such as creating a cross-country track, a drag strip, a go-kart circuit and a drift track.
To make this profitable by increasing its opening hours, and also to take advantage of the lower heat in the evening, the Sepang circuit has just been equipped with 64 projector supports with a height of 83 meters, this in order to illuminate the entire infrastructure and to organize night races. All with the approval already obtained from the FIM and the FIA, and supervised by the American company which equipped the circuits of Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Bahrain in the same way.
Currently affected are the F3 Asia races, the Audi R8 LMS Cup and the Malaysian Speed Festival. A MotoGP night race has not been specifically mentioned at the moment.
As for the MotoGP program itself, where we expect the officialization of the 2 riders any minute now Franco Morbidelli et fabio quartararo, Tan Sri Azman asked for “just a little patience”.
Then the Prime Minister himself inaugurated the night track at the wheel of a Ferrari convertible…
