With strong results at the forefront of the last two GPs, Fabio Quartararo hopes to continue his momentum at Silverstone.
15 days ago, fabio quartararo experienced a rollercoaster ride at the French Grand Prix. A pole position on home soil, a special livery unveiled in front of his home crowd, and a solid fourth place on Saturday—the Frenchman had an incredible start to the weekend.
Sunday ended in a very different way, with a race marked by rain, crashes and tire changes in the pits, creating real chaos that got the better of the Yamaha rider. Having made a mistake early in the race while he was at the front, he received a bonus a penalty for “irresponsible behavior” during the incident.
The days have passed, the disappointment has faded, and now it's time to make way for the British GP at Silverstone. While he did secure a victory there in 2021, it remains a track that hasn't been particularly good for him in the past, with difficult qualifying sessions and race results ranging from 8th to 15th place.
Despite his fall two weeks ago, Quarterly arrives at the Grand Prix with two consecutive pole positions, a podium and a fourth place, as well as a private test at Misano that brought him satisfaction. Will Yamaha's momentum continue this weekend? That's what the Frenchman hopes.
“The private test at Misano got off to a slow start due to the rain on the first day. We were also unlucky with the timing of this test last year, but fortunately this time we were able to do a lot more, and I felt good. I’ve been enjoying riding the bike lately, so that makes a big difference. I’m really looking forward to Silverstone, where we’ll give it our all again. We’ll see if we can fight at the front again.”, did he declare.
Please note that following his penalty, he will miss the first 10 minutes of FP1 on Friday morning.
