The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team is eager to return to the track this weekend at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix for the 12th round of the 2021 MotoGP World Championship. Cal Crutchlow will join Fabio Quartararo in the box for the first time and will compete in his National GP on a factory Yamaha alongside the championship leader.

Indeed, fabio quartararo arrives in the United Kingdom with a 47-point lead over its closest rivals, Joan Mir and Francesco Bagnaia, and 49 on Johann zarco, for a long time his runner-up. Although the extension of his lead after the two rounds in Austria offers the Yamaha rider some respite, he shows no real signs of slowing down but will do everything to improve his statistics on British soil.

The Frenchman is full of energy and is aiming for at least a top 3 at the British GP. Having never been on the podium at Silverstone before despite five attempts (best result: Fourth in Moto3™ in 2015), he would like nothing better than to do so this weekend, the first time Monster Energy has sponsored the event . We remember his fall in the first round in 2019, his first year in MotoGP, which also eliminated Andrea Dovizioso...

Silverstone was added to the MotoGP calendar in 2010 but has a racing history spanning over sixty years. Through innovation and investment, the circuit has become one of the fastest tracks on the calendar and has received praise from drivers. No races were held in the UK in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

As Silverstone is located in a different time zone, the schedule for the British GP differs slightly from the usual schedule for the Central European Grand Prix. The FP1 and FP2 sessions will take place on Friday from 09:55 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. and from 14:10 p.m. to 14:55 p.m. local track time (GMT+1). On Saturday, FP3 will take place from 09:55 a.m. to 10:40 a.m., followed by FP4, Q1 and Q2 in the afternoon from 13:30 p.m. to 14:00 p.m., 14:10 p.m. to 14:25 p.m. and 14:35 p.m. to 14:50 p.m. On Sunday, the warm up will take place from 09:30 a.m. to 09:50 a.m., and the start of the race is scheduled for 13:00 p.m.

fabio quartararo : " I'm approaching the British GP with a very positive mood. We extended our championship lead after Spielberg, and Silverstone is a track I really like. We took a big step there in 2019 in terms of performance. I think this race will be good if the conditions are good. If it rains we'll have to see, but either way we'll do our best. My goal is to fight for victory, firstly because it is one of my favorite circuits and secondly because it is an important GP for the team. »

Massimo Meregalli : " We didn't have the opportunity to race at Silverstone last year, so we're happy to be able to go there this season. Additionally, this year the British round is even more special for our team as we share the same title sponsor with the event, and so we are determined to achieve good results. We will work hard, and we are happy that Cal can join our team for this round. We'll have additional data from someone who knows Silverstone like no one else. Our goal is to achieve the best possible results every weekend, and we will put 100% into it, as always, to achieve this. »
