MotoGP Silverstone Day 1, Alex Marquez (Ducati/1) is never happy: "I still have to improve"

Alex Marquez is on fire at Silverstone. As a reminder, this is where he won his first Sprint during the 2023 season, and two years later, he shows that he has lost nothing. The Gresini driver is still at the forefront, as has been the case since the start of the season. He was ahead of everyone at the end of Practice, and that includes his brother Marc, who was in more difficulty and was seen on the ground during the crucial Friday afternoon session. For the first time this year, Alex is perhaps the favorite.

How could anyone not be satisfied after such a day? Alex Marquez was relieved, and understandably so. « It was very positive, we did a good job. I suffered a little more in FP1, but we knew it would happen with the basic settings. For the Practice, we found some improvements and the bike immediately behaved much better. he asserted for GP One.

 

 

And yet, despite leading the standings, Alex Marquez wants more. He knows that Ducati is under threat from Yamaha in England, and that he still needs to find some room to hold off his rivals in qualifying. « We have made great progress, both in pace and in flying laps, but it is still not enough, we must improve" he added.

 

 

Indeed, many drivers proved to be very fast today, including many that we did not necessarily expect at this level of competition. « We're all moving very fast; honestly, I didn't expect it."It's a circuit where you can never relax, so we'll still try to improve thanks to the data collected today." he concluded.
