This Saturday August 28, 2021, Marc Márquez answered questions from journalists from the Silverstone circuit, at the end of the second day of the MotoGP British Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Spanish driver, who qualified in fifth position today.

As usual, we report here the words of Marc Márquez without the slightest formatting.

Marc, how is your eye? You had to go to the hospital...

« My eye is much better. What happened was stupid, but it really bothered me, because when I fell I got some dust on the gloves and rubbed my eyes with it. Because of this my eye started to water a lot, and I had the sensation of having something in my eye. After FP2 it was no longer bearable and I went to the hospital. They cleaned my eye and I kept it closed for the rest of the afternoon, as they explained to me that this was the best way to soothe the injury. »

During which session did you feel most comfortable today?

« I felt most comfortable during qualifying. Normally this is where I encounter the most difficulties, and where I encounter the most limitations. The second line was the main objective. As for the other qualifying sessions, I simply attacked a few laps but nothing more, just to preserve energy for tomorrow. »

You and Pol were very fast all weekend. Your teammate said that the level of grip helped him a lot this weekend, but for your part is it the circuit that suits you well, or is it the bike that has made significant progress?

« Of course, little by little, I ride better and better. We're improving little things and getting closer to the guys up front. But the idea is to be consistent on all the circuits, and I should manage to be consistent on all the tracks making up the second part of the season. Here the bike works well, and since FP1 I have had good feelings. But in the end it's tomorrow that it's going to count, and that's when we're going to have to finish the job. »
