Brad Binder

Brad Binder did not make the comeback he hoped for at Silverstone, but he continues the work he started since the first part of this season, and which is to score points. In this British Grand Prix, he nevertheless had to leave the spotlight to his teammate Miguel Oliveira in the KTM clan, which he regrets, because without some adventures in the race and with better inspiration in the choice of his tires, he thinks he could have still demonstrated that you can still overtake in MotoGP…

Brad Binder finished in eleventh place this twelfth of the twenty rounds scheduled for the 2022 MotoGP calendar. However, he was only 7s7 behind the winner Pecco Bagnaia on Ducati. This shows the current level displayed by the discipline. But precisely, in such a melee, the slightest annoyance during the race can turn out to be a disaster while a bad choice of rubber is certainly crippling. And the South African combined both, in addition to a modest qualification which put him 14th on the starting grid.

But as always, Brad Binder wiped that slate clean once the lights went out… Before that: “ my start was very good, but then there was contact and I lost five places ", said the Red Bull driver KTM. " I was able to catch up with the leading group, but I made a huge mistake in the choice of tires. I had to pay for that, ten laps before the end my rear tire lost a lot. The tire was gone four laps before the end.”

Brad Binder (middle) apologized to his team

Brad Binder: “ many things would have been possible with my pace«

He regrets speedweek : “I'm sorry for my team, a lot of things would have been possible with my pace, everything worked well. But when the tire stopped working, there wasn't much I could do. I must take this as an educational experience ».

The next stop will be on his employer's land, the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the place where he won a resounding victory at the end of the event marked by rain and faced on slick by the South African... In the general classification, after Silverstone, Brad Binder is seventh and therefore still the best from the Mattighofen manufacturer. But he was overtaken by Jack Miller who is now nine points ahead of him in sixth place. As he is his future teammate, he would like to finish the year ahead of him, despite still having an excellent Ducati.
