Mir Joan

Joan Mir did not shine at the British Grand Prix, but at least he saw the finish at Silverstone, something that had only happened once since the start of the season. The 2020 world champion saved the day after two very average days on the English track. Initially 12th, he took advantage of the relegation of his teammate Luca Marini – due to non-compliant tire pressures – to take the points for 11th place, which contrasts quite a bit with the recent performances of said Marini and especially, those of Johann Zarco. For all that, Mir blamed himself.

He wasn't the happiest man when he spoke to the press. Joan Mir didn't particularly enjoy this Grand Prix. “It was a mixed day today. I was really strong at the start and in the race and I was able to show myself to be competitive from the start, fighting with the other drivers. But by starting from the back like that, I paid the price at the end of the race and I no longer had the necessary rubber to stay in front or defend my position." he declared.

Much like Luca Marini, in fact, he really thought there was something bigger at stake. « The last five rounds were mostly about survivalThis is the conclusion today: we deserved a better reward after our performance." he added.

However, given its financial situation, it is difficult not to be pleased to score a few points, as they are so rare. "But at least we managed to score points and come home with good information. There are still things to understand, but let's keep going like this. » concluded the Spaniard.
