Raúl Fernandez has revealed that he has been suffering from an unexplained physical problem for three years, which particularly affected him at Silverstone.

By winning the Grand Prix at Silverstone, Marco Bezzecchi showed the speed of the Aprilia on this track. With Ai Ogura out through injury and Lorenzo Savadori continuing to try things out for the manufacturer, the only other manufacturer representative able to play placed was Raul FernandezHowever, the Spaniard was at the bottom of the rankings throughout the weekend before experiencing a slight improvement on Sunday.

Having led the warm-up, he went on to finish the race in 12th place. This result, however, remains far from Bezzecchi's performance, but it was conditioned by a physical problem. Fernandez revealed this during his debriefing and did not hide the fact that he was suffering a lot, both physically and psychologically, given the performance of the Aprilia on this track.

"I think we're working well. We'll have to be a little more precise on Friday, but yesterday we did a good job, we sorted out all the weak points. The warm-up went well, the race too. I apologize to the team, I've been suffering from a small physical problem for three years, I thought I had sorted it out this year. I suffered throughout the race, but it annoys me because I was riding with the right group, and I wasn't able to ride well.", he began.

"I don't know what's going on with my right arm. I've already had surgery twice, and it's not that it's asleep, but I'm losing strength. It always happens to me the same way: when I'm on a right turn and I have to change direction quickly to go left, I find myself with the accelerator stuck and I can't move my body quickly. I'm in a lot of pain. Physically I'm fine, I wear a heart rate monitor on the bike, you can see that my heart is fine, and I think my muscles are fine too, but I don't understand why this is happening to me."

Revealing that he cannot undergo a third operation, he will have to consult specialist doctors in order to understand exactly what he is suffering from. "Right after the race, I rushed to the clinic to have them look at it. They didn't see anything and I need to do more tests to understand."he said.

"Honestly, I feel bad because the team is working, giving everything, we're progressing. Aprilia brings a lot to the table, the bike works. I wasn't bad physically, I had the same pace as the top ten, but I couldn't ride. It shows that the bike works, but I need to understand what's happening in my body in these kinds of circumstances."
