Johann zarco

The penalty that Fabio Quartararo will have to take in this British Grand Prix, and following the events in Assen of which he was found guilty by the stewards, has fueled the chronicle of the paddock which is taking up residence at Silverstone. All the riders are united with the Yamaha official in saying that this sanction is incomprehensible, even unjustified. The vast majority questioned this famous panel of commissioners which took this decision at Assen without having taken any on other occasions for apparently similar facts. There is therefore a break between the referees and the drivers, but Johann Zarco was the only one to put forward a political argument for championship management in this situation. And it deserves to be taken into account, in view of the events already experienced in Formula 1…

Johann zarco is third in the MotoGP championship and yet he was not invited to the back-to-school press conference at Silverstone. The two officials in red represented Ducati while they are behind the Frenchman in the provisional general classification. A situation that is always difficult to understand but which often happens to the double Moto2 World Champion. Thus, in the series “ MotoGP Unlimited » which was a complete flop, Johann zarco simply did not exist, appearing nowhere even though he was still at the forefront during the first part of the season covered by the series.

However, Johann zarco still makes his way and keeps his strong opinions to himself. On the subject which brightened up the preliminaries of this back-to-school British Grand Prix at Silverstone, or the penalty that his compatriot will have to serve fabio quartararo during the race, the Pramac driver said what he thought. He joins the rest of his colleagues in the incomprehension about the sentence imposed, but he is the only one to go a little further… Here are his words: “ it was strange. How to put it... Some people think he was too far away, others don't. But if you compare that to what Nakagami did in Catalonia, then there shouldn't have been a penalty ».

Johann Zarco: “Freddie Spencer semble toujours être sous pression, je dirais presque, à cause de choses politiques"

From there, he develops, giving the physiognomy of the next races: “ the best technique is to lead the race and win. This will now be the only way to win races or get a good result. There will be no more fighting ". The pilot of 32 years adds: “ we need someone to control the pilots so they aren't too dangerous. But sometimes we go in a strange direction. We forget that in racing you have to fight. There can sometimes be contact. Then you have to judge whether it was dangerous or not. For example, what Fabio did was not dangerous. Yes, in the worst case scenario, both will fall, but no one will kill themselves in the curve. These are harsh words, I know, but we also have to accept the work we do as pilots ».

At the same time, Johann zarco admits that he does not envy the work of the FIM MotoGP Steward Panel: “ Wouldn't it be fun to be in Freddie Spencer's shoes? He was kind of an idol but I respect him more as a pilot than as a man now. But he doesn't do the best job and he always seems to be under pressure, I would almost say, because of political things ". One last mention that the Frenchman develops, at the risk of displeasing in high places… But this posture has never affected him: “ it depends on the driver's name at the moment. Fabio is a big name. Maybe it was good to give him a penalty to have a good championship... But I don't know. When you start to think, you can think of a lot of bad things » he ends on speedweek.
