When the lights go out, Joan mir rushes first followed by Pol Espargaro and Brad Binder. Despite the effort he has just made, Johann zarco does not take any rest and it is curiously Valentino Rossi who takes the track last.

Everyone logically uses a soft rear tire, Marc Marquez, Fabio Quartararo, Brad Binder and Valentino Rossi opted for the medium at the front, the others being soft as well.

Joan mir recorded the first time in 2'00.237 but at the end of the first flying lap, it's good Fabio Quartararo which goes below the 1'59 mark in 1'58.990.

At the end of the first run, fabio quartararo precedes by 27/100 Francesco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin, Pol Espargaro, Jack Miller, Aleix Espargaro, Joan Mir, Valentino Rossi, Alex Rins, Brad Binder, Johann Zarco and Marc Márquez who has still not recorded a time despite 4 attempts.

On resumption, Espargaro Pol lights the first two sectors in red, just like Jorge Martin, the Honda driver recorded 1'58.889 before the Italian achieved a "fabulous" 1'58.008: a new absolute circuit record! Nobody really understands how the pilot pilot Pramac did it!

In fact, the Pramac driver simply cut a corner and it was Espargaro Pol who inherits pole position, the first for Honda after 14 GPs.
