He is without a doubt the rookie of the moment. In Spain, Fermin Aldeguer is again very fast but certainly more discreet than in the last two rounds. In both the United States and Qatar, he stood out thanks to his lightning race pace, but that doesn't mean he's any less dangerous this way. Seventh in a Q2 full of talent and fifth in a hard-fought Sprint – which means he gained a position taking into account Quartararo's crash – Aldeguer is enjoying it but is already focusing on the race ahead.
Fermin isn't making the top five today, but achieving such a strong performance is a huge boost for him. The Gresini rider jumped out at the start, successfully. “When the lights go out, I tried to overtake Morbidelli by braking late. But I almost lost the rear and went highside. I avoided the crash and was able to finish my race. It's not easy to compete with Morbidelli, especially when you're in the pack, because the tires heat up and the pressure increases.. It’s part of my learning.” he confessed to GP One after arrival.

He's just turned twenty, but he's still very mature. Fermin Aldeguer has a strong opinion about his style. He's different from the iconic Marc Marquez... so what? “When you arrive in the premier class, you have to adapt your style, that’s obvious. I don't ride like Marc Marquez and the other Ducati riders, I do things differently.. But that doesn't stop me from being fast. I know I need to be more fluid, but in the end, every driver has their own style." he continued.

Given the pace of those who finished ahead of him, Fermin knows he'll struggle to do better during the Grand Prix. He would love to get back into the top five. « I think we can fight for the top 5 tomorrow. But this is only my fifth Grand Prix, I have to learn little by little." he concluded.
