Marc Marquez Francesco Bagnaia Jerez

The sprint races follow one another and are all the same for Francesco Bagnaia, who could only see his helplessness against the Márquez brothers in Jerez.

Arriving on home soil this weekend in Jerez, Francis Bagnaia thought he had the potential to fight on equal terms with Marc Márquez, but the Spaniard was once again the fastest with his brother, and bagnaia had to settle for third place again.

However, the Italian driver arrived as the winner, having won the last three editions of the Spanish Grand Prix. The weekend was therefore the ideal time to reset the score and finally be able to challenge for victory against his teammate. In qualifying, he finished just one tenth behind him, but things got complicated in the sprint race.

The same scenario as in previous sprint races was repeated: Marc Márquez broke away once Fabio Quartararo down in the second round, his brother following him, and Francesco Bagnaia could not do anything.

"It's always the same, I can't get closer.", noted the Italian with Motosan. “I can't close the gap to the riders in front of me. Every time I'm closer, like five or seven tenths, I start to have problems with the front tire. If I start in front I can do what I want, but if I'm behind, no. I understood that it's more or less the same for everyone because Marc was leading a second ahead of Alex, who was a second ahead of me, and I was a second ahead of Franco.”

"I brake the same, I enter the corners the same, but in the main race, I can feel a lot more potential. I can feel a lot more sensations when braking, and in the sprint race, I don't. I'm suffering, I'm losing the front everywhere. On Monday we have an important test to do to try to resolve this."
