Marini Spain

The positive spiral that has carried Luca Marini since the start of the season is running out of steam in SpainThe Italian, completely out of the running and plagued by terrible vibrations, could do no better than 16th in qualifying and 13th in the Sprint, thanks to the crashes in front of him. The Honda doesn't seem to be particularly suited to the Jerez track, but it's clear that his teammate Joan Mir is doing much better with the same equipment. The exceptional help from Aleix Espargaro doesn't change anything.

The Honda official was not the most satisfied at the finish, but, as usual, did not despair. « It wasn't a fantastic Saturday, we had quite a few problemsWe missed the qualifying round, which also complicated the race. The vibrations, which are present in all sprints, did not leave us. We hope they will decrease tomorrow to have a better rhythm » he admitted to GP One.

Marini has been complaining about this problem for a while now, but in Jerez, specifically, he doesn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. "The start and the first two corners will make the difference. We hope to have better luck and regain positions immediately. Are the vibrations the worst part? Actually, even the grip doesn't help because as soon as you enter a corner, you slide and everything vibrates.. With more grip, there would be less vibration. The two factors are linked and that's what we're working on with Aleix Espargaro." he continued.

He doesn't even dare compare his current ride with the Ducati Desmosedici he used to ride. « They have accumulated a significant advantage over the yearsIt's normal for them to go fast with six bikes. But we're catching up. We've made incredible progress, especially if we compare the data with those from a year ago, in Jerez. There is still a long way to go, but we can be satisfied with the work accomplished. » he concluded.
