Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo) set Jerez alight in the Sprint of the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, winning for the fifth consecutive time in a short race, equaling Jorge Martin's record. In front of 5 fans, the eight-time champion took advantage of Fabio Quartararo's (Yamaha) crash on lap 100 to beat his brother Alex Marquez (Gresini, GP000) by 2 seconds. Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo), 24 seconds behind in 1,001rd place, saved points but remained behind.

Marc Marquez once again made his mark. Despite missing out on pole position, the eight-time world champion dominated the Sprint Race of the Spanish Grand Prix, thus securing his fifth consecutive victory on a Saturday.

The start was electric. fabio quartararo, unexpected poleman for Yamaha , was beaten on the line by Marquez, but the Frenchman resisted braking perfectly to recover P1. He took the lead expertly, leading the first lap in a charged atmosphere. Behind, Alex Marquez jumped into third position ahead of Pecco Bagnaia et Franco Morbidelli.

But on the second lap, everything changed. Approaching the Dani Pedrosa bend, Marc Marquez was launching an assault. Pressed outside on a dirty part of the track, Quarterly attempted desperate braking... and fell suddenly, leaving the way clear for Marquez : a shame after a breathtaking Saturday for Fabio in Jerez.

Since then, Marc Marquez controlled the race with mastery. With eight laps to go, the gap was 1 second. With five laps to go, it was even 1,4 seconds. Behind, Alex Marquez et bagnaia have failed to reverse the trend.

At the arrival, Marc Marquez wins with more than a second ahead of his brother Alex, winning gold at home. bagnaia, in third position, saves valuable points for the championship, even if he will have to do better on Sunday to stay in contact with the leader.

Franco Morbidelli finished a solid fourth, while Fermin Aldeguer continues to impress by securing a superb fifth place in front of his Andalusian home crowd. Fabio DiGiannantonio completes the top 6 after a good resistance against Maverick Vinales, seventh. Marco Bezzecchi, eighth, and Joan mir, ninth, close the march of the drivers in the points. As for Peter Acosta, he had to be content with a discreet tenth place, far from his ambitions.
