Quartararo Styria

At the foot of the podium of the Styrian Grand Prix consecrating Jorge Martin's first triumph, the Ducati and Pramac troops could only be over the moon, and, moreover, Johann Zarco showed unfeigned joy, thus decorating the celebration with his teammate. The rookie, who came a long way after his injuries at Portimao, also made history. But for the Borgo Panigale brand, it was a Pyrrhic victory. Because his affairs in the drivers' championship have worsened at the same time as with this podium, those of Fabio Quartararo, more than ever leader, were improving...

When you think about it, the one who could exult the most on the podium of the Styrian Grand Prix is a Fabio Quartararo to whom the worst was predicted. There Yamaha was supposedly less efficient than the rest of the competition, the performances in the rain had been worrying, the excitement in his box was palpable, his teammate Casa Particular in Viñales showed himself as an internal enemy, in short, everything came together to stop the Frenchman's good streak.

However, he got through all that and even two departures did not disturb him. Even the clouds were impressed to the point of refraining from watering the Red Bull Ring route. Third, he saw his closest pursuer zarco pay dearly for the choice of its soft rear instead of the medium, an option also taken by bagnaia which sank to ninth place. Direct challengers who thought they could catch up this Sunday, but they widened it.

Quartararo celebrates Ducati's worst victory

On the balance sheet, fabio quartararo only sees Joan mir take back four points from him. The official Suzuki is still at 51 lengths, and he's not exactly an immediate threat. On the other hand, zarco drops six more points, bringing his deficit to 40 units while bagnaia is now third overall with 56 delay length. And that's still nothing compared to Miller which is now at 72 after his new fall. In fact, it is a disaster for Ducati official. The brand is therefore celebrating its worst victory this Sunday.

On this race, we will remember a Dani Pedrosa not at all impressed by his fall which could still have gone wrong after the first start to take the second flight and finish with almost a top 10. Brad Binder was pugnacious to finish with a bang in fourth place which was not easy to envisage given his weekend so far. Marc Marquez showed himself to be virile, barely correct, but also messy, leaving Nakagami the task of bringing back the best result for Honda, i.e. fifth place. At least he saved the family honor by dominating his brother Alex...

We'll do it again next week in the same place. This time there will undoubtedly be fewer comments on a risky step for fabio quartararo...
