MotoGP Styria Race LIVE: Pramac Ducati wins but with Jorge Martin

MotoGP will start this Styrian Grand Prix with Jorge Martin not only in pole position but also holder of the new lap record at the Red Bull Ring. This is the second time this season that the rookie has presented himself in this way, the first time having occurred in Doha, where he took his first and only podium in MotoGP so far, finishing in third place. With his second pole position since the start of the season, Jorge Martin becomes the first rookie to take more than one pole position since…Fabio Quartararo, who did it six times in 2019.

This is the second peak position of Ducati in MotoGP at the Red Bull Ring with Andrea Iannone in 2016, who then won the race against his teammate Andrea Dovizioso. fabio quartararo qualified in third position for his 31st front row after 43 MotoGP races, a rate of almost 72%. In his 30 front row starts, he has been on the podium 15 times, including six of his seven premier class victories so far.

Jack Miller, who reached the podium twice last year at the Red Bull Ring, qualified in fourth position for the second consecutive time at this circuit after last year's Styrian Grand Prix. Miller starts from the first two rows for the ninth time in ten races since the start of the year.

Joan mir qualified in fifth position as the first Suzuki, and for his best qualifying result since fifth at last year's European Grand Prix. He was then on course to take his only victory in the MotoGP category so far. It is also Suzuki's second best result since the start of the year, after the second place ofalex rins on the grid in Portugal.

Johann zarco qualified in sixth position, equaling his worst qualifying result of the season so far in Qatar and Spain. This is the second time this year that there are four Ducati riders on the first two rows with Doha.

Aleix Espargaró qualified in seventh position for the best qualification for an Aprilia rider in MotoGP at the Red Bull Ring. He will try to give Aprilia its first top 5 since the introduction of MotoGP in 2002.

Marc Marquez, who crashed at the end of Q2, qualified in eighth position as the best-placed Honda driver. This is the first time he has not started from the first two rows at the Red Bull Ring. He will try to win for the first time on this circuit.

Maverick Vinales, who qualified on pole position last year at the Red Bull Ring but at the Austrian Grand Prix, qualified in ninth position. This is his worst qualifying result on the circuit since his 11th place in 2018.

After going through Q1, Alex Marquez qualified 11th for his best qualifying result since 10th in Teruel last year. The other time he qualified 11th was at the Aragon Grand Prix, where he took his second and most recent podium.

Winner last year at the Styrian Grand Prix, Miguel Oliveira, who fell heavily during FP1 on Friday, went through Q1 to qualify in 12th position. He is the best placed KTM rider. This is his worst qualifying result since his 16th place at the start of the year in Spain.
